The Sunshine Coast University College was founded in 1994, with the first students starting at the Sippy Downs campus in 1996. Full university status was granted to the new institution in 1998 and it became the University of the Sunshine Coast. The University is one of Australia’s fastest growing, with significant increases in student enrolments since foundation. The University’s graduates are making their mark on our local region, nation and around the world. USC aims to reach 12,000 students by 2015. The University has conferred awards to 15,221 students up to the April 2015 ceremony. Since the first graduation ceremony in 1999, 1,444 graduates from the University of the Sunshine Coast have graduated with at least one other degree with 16,851 awards conferred in total. 90 percent of the University’s Australian resident undergraduates were employed full-time or part-time, or enrolled in full-time study based on responses to the 2014 Australian Graduate Survey.
